Ok, I got one question.
Sometimes they show on TV that (for example) 10000 people watched a specific channel at 6pm. How do they check that?

Do they have these strange little transmitters in all TV's that sends away what everyone is watching or what?

I think how they do it is that the satellite that picks up and sends tv signals it recieves from the tv station and sends to the viewers tv that channel and it keeps track of it because of the signals that go through the satellite. And if the viewer stays on for a certain amount of time, they count as a viewer of that channel.

DON'T TAKE MY WORD ON IT. It is just my theory, but I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

My question is: How does gravity work? I mean, what actually CREATES gravity? I never figured out what creates it and why and how.

Gravity has something to do with the moon and stuff, hasn't it?

But I dunno how the moon makes gravity work.
Gotta ask my teacher in school about it..

gravity is affected by the density and size of the object. you have gravity but the earth has more so you can't really see the things that are attracted to you cause they are so tiny in comparison to you. everything has gravity, i don't think anyone knows HOW it accually works besides that though.

question- on movies they say "specially fitted for your tv" or something like that. what the heck? how do they know that, are their little people in my tv telling them how big it is?

Well, I am going to use figures called "magic fairies" as used by my web design teacher. Anyway, I assume that when the tape is played, they send information to the vcr the picture, now when the data is encoded in a format that allows the picture to adjust to the screen. The magic fairies inside the tv reads the code when transmitted via yellow plug and realize their limitation thus putting the picture on the tv for your recreational viewing!

This is just a guess, no knowledge involve whatso ever!

Let's say you go to the movies to see.. um.. a movie. let's say in the movie there are three passengers in the front seat of a car. In theatres you can see those three passangers at the same time while they're talking to eachother, while on your TV, they made it so you could only see two passengers at the same time. the cameras must move back and forth during the dialogue of all three passangers =)

It is necessary so that a company does not monopolize over a product and charge whatever they want because you don't have a choice to buy it. Also it is nice to have a choice so if you hate a company, you can buy it from another one. Like Nike and Reebok, if only Nike sold shoes then you would have an monopoly and Micheal Jordan Shoes would be 300 dollars at least. If you hate Nike, you are stuck with it. So be happy with the brands!

i think it started with cave peoples... they prolly started with calling food "ugh" but they couldn't call danger the same thing so they called that "ugga" ... and eventually they made a specific name for everything.... and then people started to try to figure out a way to record information.... in spanish Cheese is spelled Queso.... it was all do to chance.....

Why we have the dream? Anybody have different meaning of dream. Some people think dream distract our mind or improve our mind too. Some people think dream entertained  our mind like you mention. Dream is so vast mysterious. It buzz many famous physcologist like Freud. Nobody know why we have dream while we sleep.

I figure dreams are exactly like our thoughts, only caught up in pictures, like visualizing your thoughts. The question then should be about thoughts

I'm reading these posts because I'm bored like you wouldn't believe.

Our thoughts work, scientifically, by means of energy transference and cellular growth.

God is infinite, God have no beginning and end so God is etrenal. or God created by the people but god create the people.(paradox) or God make by God. So, somepeople told bout this. I not know this is truth. Nobody know bout God execpt what god told to us. For Atheist or Non-believer of God, God is nothing. It just mere illusion.

Okay, how about a question that has an answer:  Why is it women say they want equal treatment in comparison to men, but still say it's wrong for men to hurt women?  I mean, equality has to go both ways, right?  Can't just take the good and leave the bad?  I figure if it's considered acceptable for a gal to slap a guy now and then, the reverse should also be true, if we're trying for a society of equals.

I think equality is mere illusion created by our founding fathers because this idea would not happen unless all people are sane and mindless. Everybody have different definetion and meaning of equality. Our human's nature not allow the equality for many people because people tend to be comptitive and refuse the lose their ability. Now, I think Women go too far in this time because men has give too much power to women but only minorirty women will try change the events and they tend to left the problem to men while they try get good face on them so they can use it to make men feel bad. Some men think wrong to slap the women because they think women are weaker than men so they wont hurt them. In phyiscal term, women tend to be weaker than men. Women's nature tend to not be ruthless or mean like men but our time has changed. Now, new kind of killer is women serial killer. it kinda scary. (It is my opinion but not facts.) I think i should be shut up bout it.

When speaking of violence, in a Swedish tv program two actors, one male and one female, started a fake fight at an open street. Even when the woman were hit to the ground, no one cared. The pedestrians just went on. It's scary when you think about it.

Really scary, thinking about that nobody gives a #### if someone is beaten up, there were like 20 people around, they could take him down

where did popularity come from and how are you popular or not and dose popularty have anything to do with a fad?

Popularity is based on people liking something. There is something to do with psychology especially mob mentality. So if a group likes something or someone, usually that person follows. Maybe that person doesn't like it but the feeling of being different is scary to some people. They want to fit in, as for popularity, it is more a group thing. Also, something like tradition. How that happens? I don't know.

Why do some actions in your dreams come to a somewhat reality? Like I was dreaming and something happened and I forgot like what happened but I think I got hit in the chest, and in my dream I could tell my body could feel it.

This leads to two more questions.

Can you die if a hit is too critical if the above thing is true? and if so....

Is that why some people die in their sleep for no reason?

To answer your question, Sage, the answer is no.  The only exception is if a person has such a startling dream that they actually have a heart attack, which may explain how John Candy died due to heart attack, but I doubt it.  People may feel in their dreams only to a point.  In some cases where the dream feels real, while the physical actions that took place in the dream were entirely fictional, the emotional effects were as real as you or me, which helps to explain why we cry in our sleep or, in men's cases, sometimes wet dreams (sorry for the grossness, ladies ).  I may not have taken anything on Psychology or Psychiatry, but I sure know more about dreams than ANYONE that I know.  So any questions regarding dreams could and should be addressed to me.  I've always wanted the title "Dream Interpreter" or "Psychic Interprator of Dreams."  It makes me feel good to help people out.

Repetition is one of the surest ways to memorize and learn something new.  What is first instructed and then reviewed and worked upon in class then goes home with you in the form of homework so that the ideas and lessons are not forgotten over the course of the evening.  Though many students would argue (incorrectly) to the contrary, homework is not given simply because teachers hate kids.  It actually serves a purpose.  Now, a surplus of homework is redundant and useless, as only a moderate amount is required to practice and recall the skills learnt during the day.  Extraneous work is the sign of teachers hating you ;p

Query: Why do people get nervous about talking to total strangers who are not superior to them (as in, not higher in rank, not student to teach, etc.)?  It's not like making a bad impressions will affect the person later on, so why the anxiety?  *rarely experiences this kind of nervousness, and so is intrigued by it*

it's probulay the fact that you dont want to give the person student etc a wrong wrong answer or a bad answer becasue he may dodbule check with someone else and have like a test to take  the next day and have a multipuly question with both answers on that test.
