Voting for Mods? — Should we vote for mods?

I know that I'm probably getting on the thin line between banned and not banned by posting this poll, but I just want to see what the general public thinks:  should we be allowed to vote on who should be mods for different boards?  I personally feel that we should be allowed simply because, who's gonna listen to someone that they dislike that moderates the board they visit most.  This is not to say that Sage, Romi, Arkmam, Highlander, or Razz aren't perfectly good mods, same goes for Yed and RTV, but I think that people should be able to nominate and vote for other people to be mods.  That should allow for more experiences with different people.  Of course, normal qual's would still apply.  Yed, RTV, Arkmam, Razz, if any of you lock the topic, at least keep the polls open, please, for the sake of seeing what people would have thought.  This would also give Yed some possible ideas for future upgrades, revisions, etc.  Personally, I think Romi and Sage should keep their places.  Razz should be switched to another board because I haven't seen him on recently.  Highlander's got a good position.  Keep him there.  And definitely keep Hobbes at Enlightening Minds:  he belongs there for eternity.  But I've also noticed the following boards have no moderator other than Yed and RTV:  All Gaming Chat boards, Promote It, and FFFOC.  FFFOC needs no moderation, but the others I feel need for a mod.  This is not to say that I will become one, no matter how much I want to.  I personally would take no offense if I was not named a mod.  I would, however, like to see a reliable FFFer like Shajde take up the job rather than have someone who doesn't come as often, such as Tiff.  But, of course, there would have to be qual's and nominations in order to be voted for.  Yed, RTV, and the Enlightening Minds board would never be voted on, but the others would be.  Again, this is just a poll to see what everyone else thinks, not what will actually happen.  It would be miraculous if it did (and thank Yed if it did), so don't expect voting abilities anytime soon.  Enjoy the polls, enter your comments or suggestions, and we'll see what the majority thinks.

Nice idea, bad in practice.  This isn't a democracy, Hero.  The admins are the alpha and omega, the beginning that is the end, blah blah blah.  Sure, they take people's opinions into consideration, but the members of a board are not the people to make those kinds of decisions.

I'm confident most of the members here would make realistic choices for moderators if it came to a vote, but that's irrelevant, really.

Err...um...good point...well...I guess if I praise Yed with everything I've got, he'll accept my idea.  Let's see...32 16pc. buckets of chicken from KFC, $5,000 cash, sacrificing a card in my Yu-Gi-Oh deck and giving him the rest, keep calling FieRcE YeD god or king... ... ...

Although we lesser people (yes I'm reffering to myself also, even though I AM a mod) might think that someone would make a better mod for some place or another, we do not know best. I think we should leave it up to teh heads of the board, because it's theirs and they know what they want for it. While, us as mere members might think of someone to be a mod, that might change the whole direction and/or plan of the admin's ideas... that's what I think.

Yet another good point.  I relate this post to how I want RPs for my books.  I wouldn't want the plot twisted because a few people wanted to do something else.  Then again, personally, I want the plot to be twisted.  New ideas spawn from changed plots and that could give the writer a whole new idea, even such a one so that they make an entirely new book to add or totally change the current one.  So while there are downs, there are always good things about this.  BTW, where have you been, man?  Haven't seen you in ages!  I'm thinkin' about getting that Reploid Reverse topic back up, I've gotta talk to Sage.  But if I remember correctly, you were in it.  I'll PM you details later.  As for other things...we'll just stay on topic.

Not saying that YeD is as evil as him, but deciding who is fit to be a mod should still be decided by the same one who decides most of everything else. That is, the admin(s).

Listen, we mods discuss things with the admins, and we do our jobs and are mostly looked at before being chosen. Those who have what seems to be mod potential are chosen. =/ There is your answer.
