How did it all begin? How did it erupt into such a powerful game? These questions and more today!
Well, let's take it all the way back to the original Zelda (which I have). Take a little boy, add the maiden-in-distress elements, and add one *****-powerful villain in there, and you've got yourself fun! Link isn't exactly the hero I had in mind, but he seems to have worked to nearly 20 years, give or take a few. And all this time, except for in the Adventure of LInk and parts of Ocarina of Time, he stays under the age of 12! Wow, what a powerful kid! And Ganon/dorf's been working at this for how many years? Well, looks like Link has made a multi-million dollar career in destroying just one or two main foes-of which one is the most repetitive--Ganon. The Triforce doesn't partake in many games in the series, but it is the sole purpose of the entire saga. About the only exceptions are Majora's Mask and Oracle of Ages/Seasons, in which he is *cough* mysteriously taken to different lands. How he can do all this stuff and live a peaceful life is all in the mind of God, cause no one else can explain it. However, I can vouch that each time the games ending sequence included happily ever after, they came out with a new one. Take the first two games for example. It says after the second quest in the first one: "Happily ever after. Thank you..." However, they came out about two or three years later: "When Link turned 16, he found a mark of the Triforce on his left hand...when Link defeated Ganon, Ganon cast a sleeping spell on Zelda..." Wierd how many other games of this nature are the same way. Oh well, let's get to the major chat...
So, as if you couldn't tell, I LOVE Zelda games and their amazing complexity. I know practically Link's life from the time he was 9 years old (in the game, not life) to the current day. I haven't played ALL the Zelda games, but enough to know his history. It truly is a great history, but I could do better-NOT! Just joshin' you! Anyway, post any rumors or Q's you have on any Zelda game. I'm sure I can answer most of them, and Romku can answer a few himself as he has A Link to the Past. Which, astoundingly, is remarkably similar to OoT.
My brother and I has owned all the Zelda games to date with the exception of Majora's mask and Link's awakening DX. My favorite one is The Adventure of link which is a "2-D" fighting. Another favorite would be Link to the past. I was playing link to the past and then I decided to play OoT, it was so full of puzzles, and I was thinking Link to the past was a lot easier.
Oh, just so that you know, Link to the Past is coming for the GBA with multiplayer add on. It allows the people to work together at the same time trying to compete. Found out that on E3.

Cool, Hobbes! I have Zelda I, Zelda II (Adventure of Link), Majora's Mask, and Oracle of Seasons. My brother has Oracle of Ages and I've beaten both and he still hasn't beaten either one. I personally like OoS/OoA because it has some rehashes of the legends before. Ages, I would say, has more of a Majora's Mask/Adventure of Link mix and Seasons has more of the original Zelda and Ocarina of Time mixed together. They're both awsesome games and well worth the $80 or so it takes to get them. I suggest Ages if you like puzzles and Seasons if you like action. And not to spoil anything for you, but in Majora's Mask, Link is whisked off to another world called Termina. He has to locate and overcome four temples and stop the moon in three days. Not total, however, nor in real time. When you get OoT back, you can play the Song of Time to go back as many times as you want. The catchy thing about this game is, it has a really wierd way of saving. Unlike OoT, where you could just pause it and save it, whenever you play the aforementioned Song of Time, or hit an "Owl Statue" that looks like that owl dude from OoT-who just also gives you a few pointers early in the game-with your sword, you save it. With the owl statues, it's automatically deleted when you play the saved file again. With the SoT, you go back to Day 1 and you can restart there as many times as you want within the three day period. After you get most of the game completed, I'd recommend just taking a three day period and just watching the cut scene of the moon falling. You just start back at Day 1 of the last time you saved it with the SoT. So you don't have to worry about things. The cut scene, however, is more than the $70 or so it takes just to buy the game. I'd give it a rating 8/10, but it's truly a good game. They could have spent a little more time with the graphics, however. With OoA/OoS, you can save it at anytime, but they, too, have a somewhat strange way to do it. It seems like you died, but it's a save screen thing. You get the Continue-Save and Continue-Save and Quit options. I'd rate them a 9/10. No cut scenes, but a nice return to retro and packed with great features-especially for those who just love to play with their GBA. Add on those rings and new and used weapons...9/10 says it all. So take it from me-save up the cash and find the titles. They're all to die for.
Yeah, My brother has the ages/season. I borrowed the season, but I am still stuck on the third dungeon. When I started out, I saw my brother had 25 deaths and I scoffed at him then now I have maybe 15 and I haven't even gotten half point so he said makes my 25 death look insignificant. I rented Majora's mask one time but some other game took the spotlight so I rarely played it. I heard from a friend that the game was hard and it would almost be impossible to do without the book to help. I don't think I plan to get Majora's mask. Orcarina of Time was pretty fun. With the Z targeting, I always enjoyed fighting Stalfos because they would use shields for defense. I also liked Gannondorf's ghost fight.

Well, the book really doesn't help you much. You might want to read up on some of the items, though. But really, if you think about it, exploration in ANY game will make you more the person for it. Although you may die 125 times, you still have the fancy of saying that you had explored that area and had over 500 (replace with game's currency) when I finally found the dang place. Heck, that's what I'm doing with my Faery Tale Adventure game for my Genesis. The game was a rental from a local Captain Video when I bought it, so fortunately it came with the book. However, the book was supposed to have a "detailed map" of the land, and somebody had torn those two pages out. So now I'm stuck trying to find Swan Island to get the Golden Swan. It sucks. Terribly. So, a little exploration in MM won't hurt you one bit. Of course, some of the stuff is a bit odd, but once you get used to it, you'll play a much better game. Also the fact that I had rented OoT before (odd how we're exact opposites; you have OoT and rented MM while I have MM and rented OoT;)) also contributed to my playing ability. But the controls for the different forms are kinda hard to figure at first, but once you return to Link's normal form, it's all downhill from there. Also, if you need any help on Seasons, Gamefaqs.com has some awesome faqs about any game. Period.Gamefaqs is the complete url to the site. If you like it and decide to join their message boards, I'm MASTERNO if you wanna know. And they have more than game stuff in their boards. It's kinda like this one, only it's set up differently. I know this one probably belongs in promote it, but "a friend in need is a friend indeed." Oh, and you're welcome.
Yes, I am quite aware of the awesome power of Gamefaqs. I have been going there for maybe four years now for various of games from Half-Life to Breath of Fire. I am OnAQuest there. As for Zelda, I tend to be in a "zone" when I play games. Sometimes I just have the urge to play games that I have not played for months. Sometimes I stick to one game straight which happened to Tactics Ogre until I got Castlevania. Now my zone consists Advance Wars which I am on the final battle and also Half-Life the regular. If I beat it, I might get opposing forces and Blue Shift. Anyway for Zelda, I will just wait until I get into the Zone. Which games's forum you tend to hang around? I can see you there perhaps and I think I have seen your name before somewhere.

Well, ,it's been a while, but I tend to hang around Genesis, Nintendo, Gameboy, and N64. I'm also on some of the Genesis's individual game's boards. If you want, we can hang around the Couch. Just tell me your username and we can connect.
I only played the NES and SNES Zelda, well I did play a little of OoT but that was only like 2 hours or sumthing.
I have to say that besides the FF games, Link To The Past is the best SNES game, ever. Heh, after playing OoT I still had more fun playing Link To The Past then that one.
And between 1991 and 1995 or sumthing like that, we had a NES at home, with the original Zelda, and I spent hours and hours playing that to, though our NES was a little crummy so savefiles got deleted at random..
I know Karate, Taekwando and Jujutsu, but I wont fight you
I don't know Karate Taekwando or Jujutsu, be angry at someone else!
One of my friends in computer class is playing the original legend of Zelda using a emulator. One thing is different about the game is that he can save anytime and he does it constantly. I think it sucks the fun out of the game and it is not the same gaming experience if you don't play it exactly as you would in the Nintendo format.
