The Battle for Heroes — Fight Heroman

The Battle for Heroes — Fight Heroman
One day, a great fighter got out of bed.

"Welcome to Corneria."
Shjade wiped a few beads of sweat off of her face with the back of her hand, soaking the sweat into her leather handwraps.  With a quick breath, she began her attacks into the dummy standing at the center of the courtyard again.  The training dummy was inanimate to be sure, but it was a beast all the same; a solid titanium frame with limbs nearly a foot thick and a chest three feet wide, covered by only half an inch of cloth padding.  Each blow sounded a dull clang and slightly vibrated the entire frame.  Slightly.

Striking down at the collar of the giant dummy with her elbow, Shjade yelped when her blow connected.  She'd been slightly off, and the result came as a shock as she tore nearly three inches of skin off her forearm.  Landing on hand and knees, she examined the flesh wound with a wince.  She grinned to herself at an amusing thought.  Touche, she whispered.

A metallic clang sounded out over the empty courtyard from the other end of the yard.  A robot, or cyborg perhaps, had stepped outside of one of the many buildings lacing the edge of the wide field.  Shjade stood, peering curiously at the new entry, and wrapping a cloth bandage around her arm as he approached.

Later that day, Hero stumbled upon a young woman wrapping a bandage around a wound on her arm.

Hero:  "Are you all right, ma'am?"

    ?!?:  "Who are you?"

Hero:  "I'm Heroman, a friend of Mega Man X's.  No doubt you've heard of him!"

    ?!?:  "Well..."

Hero:  "Listen, I'm looking for someone I can battle, someone who's looking to practice their battle skills on an opponent...a real one-not just a dummy.  By the way, nice titanium dummy."

?!?:  "Wait a minute," she pauses, "I'm lookin' for something soft to practice on!  You may not exactly be soft, but you're soft enough!  Just let me dust off a little..."

Hero:  "I'm sorry, ma'am, but two things obstruct battle:  I don't know who you are, so that I can communicate with you alone in battle and for another thing, you are injured.  That would just take the fun out of it anyway fighting someone with a handicap."

?!?:  "We can take care of the wound in a jiffy.  My name is Shjade.  How amusing that you have such motives.  Most like yourself would easily and readily take on me.  Not that I'm evil, just that you seem to be more lax than your friends."

Hero:  "Well, Shjade, it seems you do have some powers.  My sensors indicate a power in you.  So I'm willing to fight.  And now since you've healed yourself, I'm now willing to battle.  Whenever you are ready."

    Shjade:  "I'm ready.  Let's go."

Hero and Shjade get equipped to battle.

    Hero:  "Ladies first..."

"Welcome to Corneria."
A slight breeze carried wisps of dust across the stones of the courtyard.  The chill wind brushed over Shjade's hair, barely shaking it as she prepared herself to attack.  Her fingers dug into the material strapped around her hands.

Wait, she thought, wait for it...

The golden curl of dust hovered just in front of her eyes.  With a quiet whistle, it was pushed aside, and Shjade's hands instantly relaxed.

Now!

A tap of her boot sounded, and she was moving, dashing across the short space between them.  Just before she got in arm's reach of Hero, she ducked and spun, coming around on his left side and swinging her leg around at his head.

Heor tried to dodge, but was caught off guard.  She hit his head hard and he slammed into a nearby tree.

Hero:  "Nice shot...but can you handle this?"

He starts to glow a bright white.  The light is so bright that Shjade has to cover her eyes, but she senses that he is going to attack momentarily.  She is right.  A great, big beam shoots out of the cannon on his right arm.

Shjade:  "Funny, I didn't know he had a Buster..." she thinks to herself.

"Welcome to Corneria."
Shjade held out her right hand, leaving it open with her palm down.  With a quiet scraping sound, her sword flew into her hand, beginning to free the death screams from its metal prison.  Holding the blade out in front of her, Shjade waited for the Buster shot to reach her.

The light smashed into Thousands, blasting grey streaks off of the blade in screaming arcs.  The dead souls whirled around the shot, shrieking in agony while the weapon absorbed the energy from the blast.  Soon, the sword has absorbed enough energy that the souls can take form as more than mere wisps.  True faces call out in agony, for mothers or lovers, or just for mercy.  The blade glows a dusky grey, calling the captured souls back their forced metal home.  The screaming grows quiet, and soon is gone completely.

Shjade sheathes the still glowing sword.

Child's play, she mocks.  Surely you can do better than that?

((OOC: Lol, I totally forgot about this battle.  Sorry, Hero!  Though it looks like you weren't around much, anyway...^.^"))

Shjade smiled to herself.

Baka, she said, amused.  It has been some time since I battled such a fool.

Shjade, somehow, seemed to be able to step out of Hero's line of fire with little effort!

Your weaponry is useless the moment you change forms!  Or had you forgotten the abilities of your own cybernetic body?  Time remains frozen only so long as you use your Time-Stopper; it continued as normal the moment you began firing your plasma!

I tire of your pathetic attacks.  It is my turn, now!!

Shjade dashed across the courtyard at her opponent.  While still a few yards away, she veered left, dug her foot into the ground hard to stop and shift her weight, then launched herself into the air, using the sun behind her as a blinder.

As Hero tried to find her in the bright sky, she appeared behind him, her sword in hand.  With a growl, she struck upward from a crouch, slashing towards his artificial spine.

(OOC:  If you have played any of the Mega Man games, you'd notice that although Flashman of Mega Man II is blue, he shoots out plasma shots when Mega's frozen.  Mega Man, however, turns purple, but cannot fire while using it.  I simply combined the two to be able to fire without transformation.  Even so, Heroman is still unique, having one ability be that anything he has done prior to transformation makes him able to use up to three robots' powers at once, such as Flash Time-Stopper, Metal Blade, and Bubble Lead all at once.  However, I will let it slide by this time.  Just know that in advance.  And about your non-response, don't worry about it.  I have plenty of patience and waited for a while.  I knew that you'd be back.  When Rom was talking about you guys, he mentioned that you and Len were in college, so I understand completely.  I just started my sophmore year and Romku his Junior.  So we'll be on less often.  I will be on, however, in the mornings at about 7:45 Central time and about 9:15 Central.  If you wanna get together sometime to battle or just talk, that'll be it.  Thanks.)

Shjade struck as hard as she could, but couldn't get very far.

Hero:  "I'm partially made of Adamantite.  You'll need something stronger."

Heroman sends her an adamantite sword that has been copied from her other one.

Hero:  "It's temporary, so use it at will."

Shjade:  "Maybe I will, maybe I won't.  We'll see."

Hero:  "My turn!"

He turns to a grey and blue color.

Hero:  "May I be your knight in shining armor?"

He swings a heavy ball and chain at her, but pulls it back quickly.

Hero:  "So may I?"

"Welcome to Corneria."

Ok, I'm not trying to boast around as a mod, but I see this is going somewhere. Hero, not to start on you, but you have been given a second chance, even tho I quite didn't believe that story. Now Shjade and Shajde are both close friends of mine, and like she said, Do not patronize her, or Len for that matter. I'm giving you you're first warning. I'm not taking sides. You made the first move. Oh, and just for the record, It doesn't matter if you are in college are not, I hardly learned #### In my two years in HS (Yes I'm a freshman in College) and I've just gotten wiser, and used info I have stored. Now don't go killing eachother on your educations :/

Shjade smiled, shaking her head slowly in disbelief.  You would use a sword of evil against an Ebon Knight?  Oh, you poor, misguided child...

She stood there, waiting until the sword's beam was nearly upon her, before she made her move.  Spinning aside, she brought her cursed blade Thousands against the dark beam with it's flat edge, then turns it upward at an angle, directing the energy as with a mirror.  The powerful blast shot upwards into the sky, out and away where it would do her no harm.

However, this maneuver required her to stand still until all of the attack had passed over the sword, leaving her in a weak defensive position against the daggers coming at her side.  The best she could do was attempt to deflect them with her own dagger Kiss, but with so many...

She concentrated her parries on vital spots, knocking aside several blades flying towards her chest and neck.  A grunt of pain soon fell from her still as three blades burned their way into her right thigh, and another into her shin.  Leethus' blast ended, and she dropped backwards quickly to get out of the way, catching another two blades in her sword arm in the process.

Tcha...sloppy... she thought.

Shjade did not try to stand or even get off of her back.  She was silent except for the sound of her breathing, but she was busy.  Her fingers traced patterns on the ground around her with her own blood.  No runes, these; something older.  Things she had learned from her ancient companion, a few lesser symbols of long gone times.

By steel and blood, with hatred and intrigue, she whispered, I call towards the one time villains and veteran lovers...

Before she completes the spell, Hero pulls out a thin, long sword.

Hero:  "I see you're getting serious.  So I'll just play along, too."

He kicks the dirt.

Hero:  "You know, I was just toyin' with ya before.  But now that you're lookin' serious, I might as well join the fun!"

With that, the armor vanishes into thin air, leaving a young boy in its wake.

Halo:  "I trained for years without that armor.  And since I've been fighting in that heavy armor lately...I'm a lot faster than you think!  And most of my powers were unusable in that suit."

He looks up at the sky.

Halo:  "So any time you want to really fight, just tell me.  I can handle most any spell and usually know a way to counter it.  I may seem cocky, but you'll believe me when you meet your defeat."

Halo puts forth the sword.

Halo:  "The Valis sword...the most powerful sword in the universe.  Even stronger than Leethus!  It holds the power of Yin inside.  Nothing can break it!  So go ahead and chant your probably useless spell, unless you summon a god, it won't do you any good."

Shjade continues the spell as if she wasn't interrupted in the first place.

"Welcome to Corneria."
This shall be closed until Shjade resumes the battle, and I need a pm from her! ^_^
