The Dagger of Judgement — The time has come for It to wake...
[!] In this RP, I am the initial and the main character. Anybody else who wishes to accompany me are welcome. I was just a normal guy with job (mine is a warrior/mercenary) and slowly as I take up a day-to-day job, that job reveals something much larger. [!]

As Delita woke, he was quite groggy, but excited. With the big new job he was assigned to by a man name Larry, he must go to an old ruin and purge it of it's treasures. He got to keep half of the profits and any other artifact he may find. He took a quick shower and suited up in his chain mail and his long blade, shield and some magical potions and such. He went to Larry to tell him that he was off. He dropped by his friend, Caius's house to say goodbye.

Caius: Well met my friend. What can I do for you?
Delita: I just wanted to say goodbye. I'm off on another quest.
Caius: Aren't you tired of those yet? You are pretty much rich enough as you are.
Delita: Well old man, I just like to do these things. I left something you might like under my bed. It's a fine artifact I recently recovered. Go there later, a spare key is under some dirt near a plant on the east side of my house. See you.

Delita was off. After several hours, he reached a river and set up a temporary camp to rest.

As Kral walked down the road, he saw a pillar of smoke rise in the distance, it seemed to be a campfire or something like that. Campfires ment travellers, and travellers ment food. Kral had not eaten anything in the last two days, exept for an uncareful hare. He started to walk a little faster, and went straight for the fire. After around thirty minutes, he reached the small camp, and saw a man sit near a fire, with the back at Kral direction, and prepare some food. Before Kral could say something, the man spoke to him.
"Good evening traveller, want some food?"
"You have some sharp ears friend, and I would very much like some food."
Kral seated himself to the left of the man.
"The name's Delita, who are you, and what brings you to this place?"
"I am Kral" the orc replied.

[!] Kral, you REALLY give it a hard time for me to give you background. [!]

Kral: This is delicious, Delita.

Delita: Do you have a place to stay tonight, Kral?

Kral: No I do not... but can I join you in your quest? If it means food and shelter, I will gladly comply with your rules and whatever you might need me to do.

Delita: Well, alright then. I was getting lonely on my quests of purging anyway. *laughs* I have an extra weapon handy. I hope you don't mind a spear. and I have some clothes for you to wear.

Kral: Thanks.. what exactly do you do, Delita?

Delita: I'm a treasure hunter. I Search many lands for countless artifacts and things of worth to make my living. It's going quite well.

Kral: It is getting late. Let us retire for the night.

Delita: Sure.

Both went to sleep in the same tent because they didn't have too much time left to set up another. Both had fallen asleep about what would become of their adventure and who each other was.

Kral whalked through the darkness of the lightless void. He heard not a single noice, and saw about as much, but he knew someone was there. He smelled the stench of rotten flesh, and suddenly, two burning eyes appeared before him. Slowly, the creature attached to the eyes came forward. The eyes seemed to grow, until they took up Krals whole view. Kral sounded a loud warcry when he smashed his fist at the flaming center of the beasts right eye.

Then suddenly, he was back in the tent.

"Are you allright?" Delita stared at him from his sleepingplace."
"Yes, it was just a nightmare." Kral brushed some of his sweatsoaked long black hair out of his eyes.

Since the sun was rising, they packed down their things and headed of towards the ruin.
On the way, Kral started to tell Delita about himself.
"I come from the Bloodstone clan village, in the far north." The eight foot orc started. "I were assigned by my boss to lead a band of hunters to kill a beast who had made its lair in the nearby mountaines.
"Then your a mercenary, like me!" Delita interupted.
"You might say so, yes. We tracked the beast to its lair, and I sent one of my men to scout in its cave. He did not return. The rest of us (we were seven totally, the missing one included) went into the cave to kill the beast who had taken our comrade. Inside, the cave, we found a huge dragon, atleast 300 feet from nose to tail's end. It was asleep on a huge pile of treasure, gold, silver, gems and other wealth. Beside it, we saw our presumed dead comrade, digging around in the riches. As he saw us, he yelled to us to come over and pick all we could carry. Sadly, the dragon slept rather lightly, and woke up on us, burning our greedy friend to orc crisp. The rest of charged, but all met a similar feat. Exept me, like you might have guessed."
"What did you do?" Delita was interested in the story, especially the part with the huge pile of treasure.
"What whould you do if you stood against a giant, evil firespitting monstrosity? I ran for my life of course!"
"And then?"
"I headed out to find a weapon to kill the beast with. And here I am. I heard of an artifact, the Spear of the Dragonslayer, that might come in handy. its supposed to be around here somewere, you don't happen to know about it, do you?"

[!] Yes thank you.. I guess I was a bit impatient for your history eh? Poor me. [!]

Delita: Well hah! I have heard of this weapon you speak of. What do you expect from a traveller like me? I hear lots of lore and stories about it but I have never actually gone to look for it. I was a year younger than I am now that my friend Larry, whom also gave me this job, went to search for it. Not suprisingly, he came up empty handed. He also lives in my village. We shall go see him later after this quest.

Kral: What luck! I might finally be able to slay that red faced son of a.....

Kral trailed off into that sentece. They both set out into Larry's directions and came up upon a hill that overlooked the ruin. Delita scouted ahead with his battle-hardened instincts to make sure no one or no thing was around to delay them. Delita made a signal with his hand to Kral and Kral went to Delita. Both were crouched behind some shrubs and bushes. It was in the mid afternoon, and the sky was blue with a hint of orange. Just shy of 4:30PM.

Kral: Have you found the entrance yet?

Delita: Yeah. It's on the east side of the ruins. A tree next to it.

"Then lets go in and get this finished."
The pair went closer to the gate, or atleast what was left of it. Inside, there was a shadowed courtyard, overgrown and full of big boulders from the once tall towers. They took a look around the yard, finding no entrance to the main part. As they were ready to give up and bash in one of the locked doors with a tree, Delita felt a smell from one of the yards corners. Curiously, they went closer and found a hole, leading down to what seemed to be a sewer. Delita went first down the unsteady iron ladder. He jumped the last part down, and landed in an odd, green substance that reached up to his ankles. As Kral went after, the ladder collapsed and the orc found himself face down in the goo.
"Oh, this thing really stinks!" He said after rising up.
"Lets try to get up to the inner parts of the ruin." Delita said, lighting a torch and slowly walking through the tunnel against the main building.

[!] Sucks for you LOL. What is it anyway? Hopes its not crap...[!]

Delita and Kral went about what seemed to be an endless walk through tunnels and dark crevices. The pair finally came abouy a ramp, though no light passed through the opening. A pillar and a few other stood before them in a room filled with crates.

Kral: The torches smell fresh. Someone has been here... or is still here.

Delita: Well these crates tell us much, they are probably looking for things of worth as we are. Let's go and explore some more.

Delita and Kral decided to keep the other torches unlits, for they might be discovered. The passed many rooms, then yet all of them were already ravaged and taken of its treasures.

Kral: I hear some voices... those of the Imperial Legion.

Delita: The Legion!? What are they doing here?? No matter. If they are of the Legion, then they MUST be friendly.

Kral and Delita walked up to the well lit room and found a small pile of supplies and 2 men.

Leigonnaire 1: What are you doing here? This is restricted area! You can't come into these ruins!

Leigonnaire 2: Have at them! For all we know they may be spies! We can't let them live!

Delita and Kral: !?

(I were planning it to come from some evil demon beast of hell or such.)

"You think you can beat us? Come try your luck!" Kral raised his weapon.
The solidiers split up, charging each of their opponents with their swords. Kral struck his spear att the legionare, only to have it bounce of his mail. Then the soldier struck, but his heavy armoring made him to slow, so Kral could jump away and make another hit at the soldier. This time, it went through the mail, but the wound did not bother the enemy much. Kral jumped back again, thinking it was time for a new stradegy. He leaned the spear against a wall, waiting for the legionare to attack him. The soldier swung his sword in a wide ark, Kral avoiding it with less than an inch. Before the soldier could prepare for a new attack, Kral quickly kicked hisarm, and the spear landed in the goo on the ground. He took a firm grip at the mans feet, holding him upside down. He swung the man as hard as he could, throwing him to the wall. He heard the sound of bones breaking, and he turned away to look how Delita was doing.

Delita stuck his sword into the ground as if it were a cain, waiting for the Leigonnaire to strike.

Delita: Come on you weakling! What are you waiting for?

The Leigonnaire charge at him with a duel handed bastard sword and chopped furiously at Delita. Delita just stood there and then with a quick movement of his body ducked and dropped his sword and took out a strange looking dagger and stabbed right through the charging body-in-armor.

The body dropped with a thump and Delita turned it over.

Delita: who do you work for? Tell me now before I finish you off!

Leigonnaire: Ughhhnn...

Delita: Tell me now!

Leigonnaire: The Order of Blades

The Leigonnaire coughed out a gulp of blood and died on the floor where Delita had dropped him.

Kral: The Order of Blades? Why are the Kings Elite units here?

Delita: I don't know, but this is getting strange.

The two moved into the next room and found an ebony table and a small golden chest on top of it. The two approached and opened it. Inside was a dagger that glowed blood red.

"Shiny!" Kral reached down in the box to take the dagger. He suddenly felt an imense pain in his hand, and quickly removed it.
"I dunno what this is, it seems like some kind of magic seal." Kral rubbed his hand.
"Why wont you try it? It might be so that orcs cannot touch it."
Delita slowly neared the dagger with his hand, readdy to snap it away if he got burned. He grabbed the hilt of the dagger, raising it in the air, admiring its fine details. Suddenly, it started shining with a bright red flash, and the whole room were covered in red light.

The light faded, then Delita picked up the Dagger. at first, nothing happened. Then the red light came back again and both were thrown to the wall. When the light faded, the hand on Delita that picked up the Dagger was covered with blood, but no wound was on his hand.

Delita: !? What!? why is my hand in blood?

Kral: I don't know, but more is coming out.

The Dagger lay on the floor. Kral reaching into his pack and got out some blacksmithing prongs and picked it up. He put it in a white cloth and both of them went back to the village. Delita's hand was bleeding uncontrollably the whole way. When they finally got back, it was about 5AM in the morning. They went directly to the healers' building.

Healer: How may I help you, gentlemen?

Kral: Uhm, his had is bleeding mass amounts of blood. He has no wound, though.

Delita put his hand on the table with a bloodied cloth grasped in his other hand.

Healer: My God! What happened?

Delita: I picked up a dagger, and it started bleeding

The healer went immediatly to work. She cast spells, put some herbs on it, and finally bandaged it. Most of the bleeding had stopped.

Delita: What happened?

Healer: The dagger you picked up.. where was it from? It had a curse on it.

Kral: From a ruin.

Healer: Go see the elder later, he will tell you about this. Get some rest for the bleeding to stop completely.

"You don't mind if I go to town and buy some things, do you?" Kral asked Delita as they headed out from the healer's building.
"Sure, come to my place when done, its down this street, third house on the right."
Kral went down to the market, looking around for a weapon dealer. He saw one, and entered the shop.
"Hello sir, you don't happend to have some axes, don't you?" He asked the middleage man behind the counter.
"You are very lucky sir, I just got some double headed iron axes in from my dealer in Capiria. They're in that corner over there."
Kral headed over to the corner the man had pointed at, and found half a dozen large axes leaned against the wall.
"I'll take two of theese."
"That will be fourty gold sir."
Kral handed him the money, and went out of the door to find an armoury. He found one, and bought himself an iron chainmail.
After buying some other stuff, he headed for Delita's house.

Delita was sitting in his house, fletching (making) some arrows. His cursed hand was working a lot better now that the bleeding had stopped. Kral walked through the door.

Kral: You alright?

Delita: Yeah. What did you buy?

Kral: some new weapons and armor. Nothing special.

Delita: you didn't sell my spear, did you?

Kral: No, it's right here.

Kral handed the gold bladed spear to Delita.

Delita: Yeah, I found this one too. It is very old and it worth lots of cash. It is very sturdy ever since I got it. The Elder said it is from the Dark Ages.

Kral: Ah, good thing I didn't sell it. Ha ha ha.

Delita finished fletching and took the Dagger with the prongs and took it to the Elders. Both walked in, anxious for some answers.

Elder: Let me see it.

The elder took up the prongs and examined the Dagger.

Kral: Well? What can you tell us about it?

Elder: This thing is very dangeorous. Never, ever wield it with a bare hand. Wear a gauntlet before doing so. But it must be a very special gauntlet. It is called "Wraithguard". This dagger makes the wielder bleed if not wearing Wraithguard. After bleeding for some time, the person's entire body will bleed, then he or she will explode. You're lucky you didn't hold it for long. The dagger is called the Dagger of Judgement. If the user wears Wraithguard and cuts someone even the slightest, the victim will instantly die. If the user swings and misses, the victim will be sent flying into the air about 20 feet away. Without Wraithguard, I'm afraid that this Dagger is just another cursed dagger.

Delita: Wow. Where can we find Wraithguard.

Elder: I don't know. You can go visit the Library of Leng in a town called Maranda. They have ancient prophecies and old books you can refer to. It is only accessable by boat. If by any chance you find this Wraithguard, I suggest you destroy it along with the dagger. If this kind of evil is sent into the wrong hands, the user is unstoppable. Do you understand?

Kral and Delita: Yes.

Both walked outside.

Delita: Lets go get some supplies.. this is going to be a long trip across the sea. It's not just a stones throw away from here.

"According to this map I got in town, the town of Maranda lies... oh ####, this gonna take some time I tell ya!" Kral held out a piece of paper and looked at it.
"Why?"
"First, we need to get to a town near the coast, the nearest would be Krunt. Then, after sailing across the sea witch should take several days we will end up at the edge of a desert. When we have crossed the desert, we will end up at the Mountaines of Death, witch we will have to climb before reaching the library."
"Are there no shorter way?" Delita did not like the thought of a journey of such length.
"Nope, sorry."
"Ohh man, this is going to be a loooong trip."

[!] Good job, dumbass! Lol well ok I guess we can do that BTW, I won't be back for a while. Read my topic in Gen. Discussion [!]

Delita: Holy crap! We are going to die just trying to get there!

Kral: No we won't. The both of us are strong enough to overcome these obstacles. It will  just take some time.

Delita: I guess you're right... let's get some supplies. We need a LOT of supplies. We will restock each town, eh?

Kral: Yes.
