FF7 Guide -- Credit & Attribution

The guides in this folder were originally published on ffoncrack.com, which was itself the successor to finalfantasyfanatic.com. They are preserved here as a piece of history and to set the record straight on who made what.

It was this Reddit post that started all of this -- it's what prompted me to begin uploading everything to Doors. In it, user Sea_Drag5443 commented: "FFOC and fffanatic was my website."

Sea_Drag5443 is the same person as Doppelganger, who appears throughout these forum archives and is referenced in the Why I Recreated This post.

To be clear: Doppelganger did write these guides, which is exactly why they are preserved here under his name.

The 2003 site says so itself, and you don't have to take my word for any of it. The guide's own index page was headed "Doppelganger's Comprehensive FF7 Guide" (archived July 14, 2003), and the front-page announcement of May 11, 2003 read: "Doppelganger has given us his first release of his comprehensive guide to Final Fantasy 7."

However, ffoncrack.com and finalfantasyfanatic.com were not his to claim ownership of. FieRcE YeD founded both sites. RTV King served as co-owner and admin, a role earned through his financial contribution toward hosting the .net domain. Doppelganger was a valued contributor -- including as the Black Belt in the original FF1 video known on Reddit as the "stuffed dog" video -- but not an owner of either site.

That same 2003 guide page settles this half too. It introduced him as "FFonCrack's loyal but not very known friend" -- which is how the site described a contributor at the time, and not how it described its owners.

Just wanted to get that on the record.
