The Downloads folder contains rare software artifacts recovered from personal archives — files that have been migrated forward across every machine since the early 2000s and are now preserved here.
Contents include:
• Pokemon Online Beta 1.0 (September 2000) — the original playable prototype by Konidias that launched the POL phenomenon. Previously considered lost media.
• POL Map Editor (2001) — the tile-based map design tool used by POL staff, recovered from the Bulbagarden era.
• POL Character Editor (2001) — the 32x32 pixel trainer sprite creator by B-Quest.
• Epic's Memorial (May 2001) — a fan-made application responding to community drama around POL's existence, built in The Games Factory.
• POL Lounge V1.0 (2001–2002) — a standalone community chat client built for the POL community using a custom TCP protocol.
All files are confirmed working on Windows 11. Backups are maintained at archive.org.
